Welcome to the online record of our celebration!
The Village of Corfe Castle joined County and Commonwealth during the first week of June 2012 in celebrating Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee to recognise her 60 years as our Monarch. The Queen even acknowledged our celebrations in a letter!

The main celebrations took place over the weekend of Saturday 2nd June to Tuesday 5th of June 2012. The Corfe Castle Diamond Jubilee Committee, along with a number of supporting local organisations, developed a varied programme of events and competitions which covered all age groups, with the emphasis on fun involving everyone who wanted to join in, and lots of you did!

To commemorate the historic occasion a limited edition Corfe Castle Diamond Jubilee bone china mug was presented to all our local school children at the Corfe Castle Village Tea Party. A limited number of these mugs were also available for purchase from shops in the village and sold out in record time!

A group of ladies in the village created a commemorative wall hanging showing some of the most distinctive and important elements that make up our village. The completed wall hanging now hangs in our doctors surgery for all the village to enjoy.

The village of Corfe Castle has commemorated numerous other royal jubilees and occasions in various lasting ways and we wanted the village to have a permanent legacy to commemorate this Diamond Jubilee as well. Our legacy consists of a diamond shaped plaque in the village square and two beautiful carved village entrance stones:
